Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Releasing Emotional Charge at Its Root

Some patterns cannot be resolved through insight alone. You can understand a fear intellectually and still feel it in your body. You can recognise a limiting belief and still react as though it is true. This is where Emotional Freedom Technique becomes an essential part of my work.

EFT is a structured method that combines focused attention with specific tapping points on the body to reduce the intensity of emotional responses. It works directly with the physiological imprint of stress, trauma, anxiety, cravings, and even certain forms of chronic pain. Rather than simply analysing an issue, we calm the body while the issue is consciously addressed.

In our sessions, EFT is used deliberately and in context. Conversation and reflective exercises such as journalling help us identify patterns, beliefs, and emotional themes. They bring awareness to what is operating beneath the surface. EFT then allows us to work with the emotional charge attached to those discoveries. The two approaches complement one another. Insight reveals the pattern. EFT reduces its intensity. Together, they accelerate progress.

We identify the emotional weight beneath a pattern and work with it in real time. This may involve addressing past experiences that still carry influence, fears that feel disproportionate to the present, addictive triggers that override logic, or physical discomfort linked to stress responses. As the nervous system settles, perspective shifts naturally.

The relief clients often experience is measurable. Intensity reduces. Reactivity softens. Space appears between stimulus and response. Memories lose their emotional grip. Cravings decrease in urgency. The body begins to register safety where it previously registered threat. EFT also supports forward movement. Once emotional charge is reduced, new beliefs and behaviours integrate more easily. You are no longer attempting to override your nervous system with willpower. You are recalibrating it.

This pillar of my work allows us to address trauma imprints, anxiety patterns, phobias, compulsive behaviours, and pain with a method that is both practical and structured. It strengthens the effectiveness of traditional coaching approaches by working directly with the body’s stress response. Where conversation reaches its limit, EFT provides a direct path to regulation.
